Born in 1995, based in Gifu Prefecture. In 2020, she launched her personal creative label, SUEKIKI. Embracing a life in tune with the seasons and the rhythms of nature, she draws inspiration from everyday experiences and human connections to create paintings and songs, presented through exhibitions and live performances.

“By a fortunate encounter, this marks the first opportunity to present work in Okayama.
Since the beginning of the year, inspiration has come from both travels abroad and the natural rhythms of the land where she was born and raised. These impressions have been absorbed, digested, and expressed through color and form, and this exhibition shares a part of that record.

Creating and evolving work while staying in different places has long been a desire, and during this residency at C&C, she looks forward to discovering what can be absorbed and expressed as part of her Field Works. Over the course of this week, please enjoy witnessing that process.”

During the C&C residency, SUEKIKI will explore music production inspired by local experiences. On May 30, together with Okayama-based painter Masahiro Kouyama, we will create artwork for the music while listening to the tracks produced during the stay.
Come and witness how the sounds and emotions SUEKIKI encountered in Okayama take shape through Kouyama’s art pieces.

Masahiro Kouyama
Born in 1988, based in Okayama Prefecture. His works evoke images of light, dappled sunlight, and the darkness of night forests—the landscapes first conjured by the word world. Active mainly in acrylic painting and drawing, his practice explores the theme of weaving life into a story, like connecting constellations.
